I’ve been taking more social media breaks lately, which has been so good for my mental health. I’ll log off of Instagram or Facebook for a few days (or both) and not stress about keeping up with what’s happening online. It feels absolutely freeing to only think about life offline for a bit!
I also just finished Fiona Ferris’ latest book, 100 Ways to Live a Soft, Calm Life. Much of her advice involves getting offline and immersing your senses in the real world. It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of the French chic genre. As a suburban Midwestern stay-at-home mom, I suppose there’s just something about the idea of working on (just) myself and upleveling my life in a feminine way that feels lusciously indulgent.
Paper clutter… the bane of every homemaker’s existence. We receive more every day in the mail, kids’ backpacks, art projects made at home, etc. Paring down to the necessities feels almost impossible due to the sheer bulk of paper we receive and store in our homes.
What exactly is a crunchy mom? Some definitions include: someone who raises their children in a natural lifestyle, someone who follows their intuition to parent rather than current trends or official recommendations, or a parent who prioritizes the health of their children and the environment. Some definitions include phrases like “liberal-leaning” while others call crunchy moms “crazy,” “anti-science” or “conspiracy theorists.”
