Hey, you! Are you still there? Want to tell me how we’re halfway through September already?! It’s a bit of an odd time to be putting up a blog post, I know. But I’ve actually got a nice chunk of spare time this evening and we just enjoyed a lovely day in Monterey, CA, a couple of hours down the coast from where we live.… Read More »
Happy last week of August, folks! Can you believe we’re already two-thirds of the way through 2017?! That may or may not have been what spurred us to break from our usual lazy weekend routine and get out of the apartment for a day trip yesterday. I posted a picture on Instagram, but in case you missed it, we drove eight hours round-trip to hike in Yosemite and it was totally worth it.
Today, I thought I’d recap our trip and give you our suggestions for sightseeing and hiking in the park! We’ll definitely be back as Yosemite is huge and we hardly saw anything overall–and I’d love to camp next time–but I really loved the trail we picked yesterday, so I thought I’d share :)… Read More »
If you’re interested in reading other travel adventures on our cross-country road trip, here’s where you can find my recap of our visits to Custer State Park, Great Sand Dunes National Park, and Mesa Verde National Park–complete with information about park fees and our recommendations for camping in the area.

This is my third travel recap of our road trip across the country to move to California. We started out camping in Custer State Park, South Dakota, drove through Wyoming, stopped off at my fiance’s parents’ house near Boulder, then headed to southern Colorado to explore the Great Sand Dunes and Mesa Verde.
After a morning spent hiking in the Great Sand Dunes, we said goodbye to Eric’s parents and set off on the (relatively) short four-hour drive from the Dunes to Mesa Verde National Park.… Read More »
I hope your week is off to a good start! Eric and I had another crazy last week: flying back from California, moving back into the dorms at Carleton for a few days, graduating, and driving to northern Minnesota for Eric’s family reunion. We’re currently enjoying a brief vacation lakeside before some grad celebrations with my family, and then flying back out to the Bay Area because Eric starts work on Monday! Phew.
Anyhow, let’s just pretend we’re back on our road trip without a care in the world. Last week I shared our trip to Custer State Park, SD. From there, we drove to Eric’s parents’ house near Boulder, CO, where we stayed for a few days before leaving for Great Sand Dunes National Park in southern Colorado.… Read More »
