
In retrospect, I think it’s a bit funny that I wrote a post after the first 100 items I decluttered, like that would be a sizeable portion of the project. Quite the opposite–the more I decluttered, the more I saw that should go! I stopped keeping track after the next 100 items. I would estimate that I’m now somewhere between 400-500 items gone, and MANY more still to go.

Sometimes you just have those moments when a concept you’ve been trying to understand for a while just clicks.
I recently read two books that inspired me to tackle the clutter around our house in a thorough, maintain-able way.
Does anyone else have a really, really hard time getting rid of books? They’re like old friends; even if I know I’ll never read one again, it’s so hard to part with. Plus, you fall down the rabbit hole of opening them as you sort and getting sucked into the story again. Although I finally decluttered the bookshelf in my room a few months ago, my mom still has boxes upon boxes of my old kids’ and teens’ books in her basement that I need to go through at some point. Progress, not perfection, right? …
