This month will actually mark six months since I deleted my account. Yay! I have less desire to return than ever. I’ve actually been paring down my Facebook account as well; it is now only for communication and groups (mainly Buy Nothing). And while my lightphone dream did not materialize–unfortunately I was unable to get one of the kids’ school communication apps to function on my browser–I am feeling in a decent place overall with my transition to more analog life.… Read More »
Capsule Wardrobe Reflections: Learning By Wearing

I was not blessed in the sense of style department, pretty much from birth. My mom has a home video of preschool-aged Claire happily jumping around the living room in messy curls, black and white checkered leggings, a pink dress with multicolored flowers on it, and yellow socks. That pretty much sums up my fashion life from ages 0 through 25 😛
It didn’t occur me until my late 20s that even if I wasn’t born stylish–and didn’t seem to develop that muscle during my teenage years, as I felt like many did–I could work on my personal style like any other project: trying new things, making mistakes and learning from them. So refining and adding to my wardrobe has been something I’ve been actively trying at for about three years now (hey, better late than never). … Read More »
How to Teach Kids About Financial Literacy (With Tips from a Financial Manager)
I was gifted a copy of Math Hack Secrets to read and review on Just to Claireify. All opinions expressed are my own.
Personal finance: a topic that’s always intimidated me, and even more so as a parent. I didn’t learn much about money management at home as a kid, and it wasn’t covered in-depth at school. And I know I’m not alone in that, either. Eric and I have done fairly well in life; we’re both thrifty personalities. But when it comes to teaching our kids financial literacy… well, let’s just say I was clueless. I didn’t even know where to start.… Read More »
Our Annual Garden Lineup {2025}
I had a request to share what we’re growing in our garden this year, so here it is! Everything we’ve planted and hope to plant this year in our backyard.
Last year we had some big garden successes: strawberries, zucchini, tomatoes, and putting in a lot of perennial flowers and herbs that my mom gave us from her garden. We have a row of hostas in front of our house now, and a big bed of lilies and phlox in the backyard. We also have oregano and chives that are coming back in our raised beds. Hooray for perennials! Less work and money :)… Read More »
A Brief Update + Thoughts on Busyness
Hello, friends. No, I haven’t fallen off the face of the planet. Nor am I pregnant, sick (well, I have a head cold at the moment but that isn’t the reason I haven’t been blogging), or shutting down the blog.
It’s just kind of been one thing after the other since the end of March. We had a packed spring break with playdates, doctor’s appointments and the general chaos of four kids at home for a week. Then K, C, and I started a new toddler-and-me class, Eric’s parents came to visit and suddenly it was Easter. Now we’re staring down the end of the school year–so many festivities!–and summer camps, more holidays and family birthdays, and getting our garden up and running.… Read More »
