Oof. What a weekend. The past few days have been President’s Day weekend–no school but Eric still had work–so I haven’t had time to sit down with the blog or really, anything beyond dishes and laundry that’s needed my attention. My Favorite Memory from Sydney

I shared a bunch of posts from our Australia trip last year about the big parts of our trip–where we stayed in the city and Cronulla, visiting Taronga Zoo and Wattamolla Beach–but whenever I tell people about our trip, there’s always one everyday moment that comes to mind. (And yes, I do still talk my parents’ and sister’s ears off about Sydney. Just priming them to move there with me someday :P)

It was a rainy Thursday afternoon in Cronulla, cold for Australian summer (about 70F, lol). We had just spent a couple of hours relaxing at the beach a couple blocks from our apartment, digging in the sand and watching surfers catch the big waves. A Note on Our Weekend…

Lately I usually have posts up on Mondays and Fridays–this week it will be Wednesday and Friday. Our whole family (minus baby with his lucky breastfeeding antibodies!) had the worst stomach bug over the past week, ending with Eric and I.

Thankfully we’re all feeling much better now, but I haven’t had time to edit and finalize this week’s post yet. Little A also has a hospital appointment today. Nothing serious, but a routine lengthy check-in with one of his specialists.

Thanks for understanding and stay well! Seriously… I wouldn’t wish that stomach bug on my worst enemy -.-

Three Big Things #2: We Sold Our House

The picture of our house from the real estate listing–I grabbed before it gets taken down. Probably the best one we have because it’s a tough house to photograph. We affectionately referred to it as “the house someone sat on” because it is so long and flat 😛

This is not actually new news… the sale was closed on September 14, and we accepted an offer over a month before that! We haven’t lived in the red brick house for a while now.

It was a wonderful first home that held so many good memories–bringing home 2/3 of our kids, hosting Eric’s family and our friends, endless walks around our beautiful neighborhood and simply enjoying the sanctuary of our wooded backyard–and also many hard ones (mostly during the pandemic, which lasted for over half of our time there).… Read More »
