10 Money-Saving Tips for Weddings on a Budget

Are you planning a budget-friendly wedding? As a recent bride, here are my tips for weddings on a budget (and no, I won't tell you to cut the guest list). Last year in April, I was in the thick of wedding planning. Sending invitations, planning decorations, finalizing everyone’s outfits in the wedding party, and more. I enjoyed the process and our wedding day was a dream… however, I am glad I don’t need to spend this year doing it all over again!

One of my top priorities for wedding planning was staying within budget. I wanted to enjoy the day and yes, to splurge on the things that were important to us. On the flip side, I didn’t want us or our parents to feel strapped for cash afterwards. Our Wedding Day: The After-Party

It’s time for the final wedding day recap! Today I’m talking about what we did after the wedding, as our reception ended at 4:30. Each of our families–E’s family, my mom’s side and my dad’s side–hosted their own family reunion dinner of sorts. However, we opted for a more casual after-party with our college friends. Originally, we were going to try to hit all three family gatherings, but that seemed like a crazy and not very relaxing evening.

Our wedding food was my favorite part of the reception for sure! (Okay, the people were the best part. But the food was a close second.)
